The 2025 Nissan Frontier Is the Perfect Truck for Doing Truck Things
The 2025 Nissan Frontier is an honest truck, one that gives you the power, strength, capacity, and capability to do all sorts of “truck things.” Don’t take our word for it. Car and Driver took a 2025 Frontier Pro-4X model for a test to see if it stands up to the “honest” title.
For 2025, Nissan updated the Frontier with a new grille design, exterior trim, and an updated dashboard with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen. However, the Frontier is still equipped with a V6 engine as standard—one of the remaining vehicles in its size class powered by one.
Another addition to the 2025 Frontier is the wider availability of the six-foot bed across the Crew Cab lineup. The Pro-4X now has a choice of the short five-foot bed and the longer six-foot bed to go along with its off-road capability.
That capability continues for 2025 for the Pro-4X models. Bilstein shocks keep the Frontier Pro-4X suspended over rougher terrain. To make sure you’re seeing what obstacles are ahead of you, the Intelligent Around View Monitor has an Off-Road Mode that is switched automatically when putting the Frontier’s transfer case into 4LO. That way, you can plot your way through the more extreme terrain easily and safely.
An “honest” pickup truck must have honest capability. On Pro-4X models, you can tow up to 6,880 pounds. Other models have a maximum towing capacity of 7,150 pounds.
Just because it is an “honest” pickup truck does not mean it skimps on the things you need the most today, which includes safety and driver assistance. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on all 2025 Frontiers. This includes features such as Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, which enables the 2025 Frontier to detect other vehicles and pedestrians and stop your pickup truck before any impact occurs. That’s the peace of mind that your Frontier will give you.
While Car and Driver liked what it drove in the Pro-4X, the 2025 Nissan Frontier is one of the few “honest” values left in the pickup truck market. It starts with an MSRP of $32,050, with a choice of 17 different models. Choices include two cab sizes, two bed lengths, 4X2 or 4X4 drivelines, and four trim levels.
With that kind of choice, there is a 2025 Frontier that is right for you. Whether you just want a truck for daily driving or for work, you cannot go wrong with this “honest” pickup truck. After all, it is the perfect truck for doing “truck things,” no matter how you define them.
