2025 Nissan Z

Performance

Buyers can get the 2025 Nissan Z in three different trim levels, including Sport, Performance, and NISMO. The Sport and Performance Trims have a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 under the hood that produces 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, with either a 6-speed manual or no-cost optional 9-speed automatic transmission offered. The Performance trim level further adds a limited-slip differential and Nissan Performance brakes with red calipers. The range-topping Z NISMO has the same engine but with 420 horsepower, 384 lb-ft of torque, and a 9-speed automatic. In testing, Car and Driver says the manual Z will get from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, while a Z with the automatic can get 60 in 4.3 seconds. The NISMO model was even faster with a time of 3.9 seconds. 

Buyers who opt for the NISMO further get stiffer springs with larger dampers that have been specially tuned for the new Z NISMO. A set of Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT600 tires are wrapped around RAYS 19-inch wheels in gloss black. The tires are 10 millimeters wider in the rear at 285/35R19.  

Exterior

The new Nissan Z harkens back to the original days of the Datsun 240, 260, 280 Z models with its overall shape and headlight design. There is no doubt this is a Z as soon as you see its silhouette whether parked or driving. Nissan calls the long front end the “Grand-Nose” or “G-Nose” as a callback to the original Z. LED headlights and taillights keep the old school style modern. Standard are 18” alloy wheels on the Sport model with 19-inch RAYS wheels being standard on the Performance and NISMO cars.  

New colors for 2025 include GT-R’s iconic Bayside Blue, plus Pearl White Tri coat with Super Black roof and Solid Red with Super Black roof. A tweaked front fascia with rectangular grille openings, 19-inch wheels, and fender extensions take you back to the time of the original 240Z. Heritage-inspired design elements include katana blade roof accent, “Z Bulge” hood and C-pillar emblem referencing the first-generation S30 Z. 

Interior

The new Z is not only meant to be an attractive sports coupe on the outside, but it also has an interior that is meant to give enthusiasts all that they want and need at their fingertips. Sport models feature black woven cloth seats that are 8-way manually adjustable for the driver’s seat and 4-way for the passenger seat. Stepping up to the Z Performance brings leather seats with 4-way power adjustability for the driver, plus manual lifter, lumbar, and thigh support. The passenger also gets a 4-way power seat. Both seats are also heated.  

NISMO models get leather and Alcantara Recaro buckets that have a red section in the center of the seat and a NISMO emblem in the headrest.  

Technology

Sport trim Z cars get an 8-inch touchscreen display with a 6-speaker sound system as standard as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  

Performance models receive a 9-inch display with an 8-speaker Bose sound system with NissanConnect, a Wi-Fi Hotspot. Active Noise Cancellation, and Active Sound Enhancement. 

All models get a wealth of standard equipment including a Nissan Intelligent Key with push button start, Intelligent Cruise Control, Automatic Temperature Control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, RearView Monitor, two 12-volt power points, two USB points (Type-A and Type-C), and front and rear sonar sensors, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth, SiriusXM Radio, Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant and Siri Eyes Free.
