Kicks and Murano Named ‘Most Dependable’ in J.D. Power Study

There are many vehicle awards, primarily for new vehicles, but J.D. Power has one that takes three years to earn. This makes complete sense because how can you award a vehicle for dependability unless some time has passed? Therefore, it is with great pride that Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia announces that the Kicks and Murano have both been named the most dependable vehicles in their segments in the J.D. Power 2025 Vehicle Dependability Study. 

Once again, as this study emphasizes dependability, the awards are presented to the 2022 Kicks and Murano models. In particular, the 2022 Kicks received the title of Most Dependable Small SUV, while the 2022 Nissan Murano was recognized as the Most Dependable Midsize SUV.

For 36 years, the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study has surveyed owners of 3-year-old vehicles across 184 potential problem areas within these categories:  

• Infotainment  
• Features, controls, and displays  
• Climate control 
• Exterior 
• Driving assistance 
• Interior 
• Powertrain 
• Seats 
• Diving experience 

As something of a coincidence, both award-winning models have all-new designs for the 2025 model year.   

The all-new 2025 Nissan Kicks boasts a bold design, available all-wheel drive, a versatile and upscale interior, impressive technology such as ProPILOT Assist, and best-in-class ground clearance.  

The all-new 2025 Nissan Murano features a stunning design inspired by the Ariya EV while presenting a look all its own, including LEDs that blend into the grille slats and low-profile LED headlights. Inside, it offers seamless connectivity and a dashboard design that breaks new ground in appearance and haptic control placement.  

Accompanying the bold new look is an advanced 241-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that utilizes Nissan’s exclusive variable compression technology. The engine pairs with a new 9-speed transmission, and upper models include a Google Built-in infotainment operating system, while all models come standard with Nissan Safety Shield® 360. 

Again, the awards pertain to the previous design generations of both the Kicks and Murano, and you are sure to find examples of those models in the Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia used car inventory. However, you may also assume that Nissan has built that same dependability into these two bold new models, which point the way toward Nissan’s future. Either way, you will be getting a great vehicle.
