Ariya Owners To Get Access To Tesla Supercharger Network
With battery electric vehicles having been on the market for over a decade now, it has become apparent that many prospective buyers’ reluctance to switch to EVs has less to do with the cars themselves and more to do with the uncertainty of reliable charge stations. Thus, Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia is pleased to announce that for 2025, Ariya owners will get North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapters, enabling them to charge at existing Tesla Supercharger sites.
“This adapter will allow Ariya drivers to conveniently charge at compatible Tesla Supercharger locations – dramatically increasing the number of public charging locations available to Ariya. In 2025, Nissan will begin offering EVs for the U.S. and Canadian markets with a NACS port,” stated Nissan.
To improve things further, Nissan is also launching its own NISSAN ENERGY charge network, which includes more than 90,000 DC fast chargers in the US using the Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo networks. This consolidated network will enable owners of the Ariya and future Nissan EVs to use the MyNISSAN app at all these locations regardless of the source network. Ariya drivers can easily find charging stations, check real-time charger availability, and pay for charging with the app.
After arriving at a charge station within the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network, drivers can simply tap an on-screen button to start charging. This new feature will be available to MyNISSAN app users from November 2024 onward.
This will likely boost interest in the Ariya because the vehicle has been very popular with owners and professional reviewers. For those who plan to use the car primarily for daily and around-town use, the 2024 Ariya with the 63-kWh battery delivers has a range of 216 miles and includes the roomy and high-tech ambiance of the Ariya line with Engage FWD models starting under $40K at 39,590. With the available 87-kWh battery, the range has been rated up to 304 miles for Venture FWD models with an MSRP of $41,190. AWD models use a motor for the front and rear with a range varying from 205 to 272 miles depending on battery size and trim level, with MSRPs ranging from $43,590 to $54,190.
With more charging options and lower prices, you may find that it is time to visit Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia and check out the smooth, quiet operation and essentially maintenance-free drivetrain of the stylish and spacious Ariya crossover.
